Hello! I downloaded the game and a had very good time playing it.
There is just one thing that perplexed me so I'd like to ask about it.
In the scene where Elvine meets Mary for the first time, she reffers to her in monologue as a "little girl". This confuses as Mary is visibly not a little girl and if I understand the lore correctly, *slight spoiler warning*
she died 20 years after her father's death, so it is literally impossible for her to be a little girl.
So I would like to ask: was this one of the grammatical errors you have mentioned or did Elvine really think in that moment that Mary was some creepy little girl from a horror story or something? And if she did, why?
Hi there! Thank you so much for playing! I can't say for certain what 2013 me was trying to say there, but I think I can take a guess--
(Slight spoilers)
Probably the "little girl" there is moreso meant to say "this woman looks younger than me". The timeline in this particular game was a big plot hole HAHA π (Especially Bryant's route)
I think I originally meant for Mary to be a few years younger than Elvine (thus the "little girl comment", she also happens to be on the shorter side) but then I went ahead and attempted a timeline and oops suddenly that doesn't quite make sense.
Maybe the fire took a few years off the appearance of her ghost???
You can safely chalk that line up to "plot hole" haha.
I think it might have been that the court mage was supposed to be around Bryant's age (who was supposed to be around??? 5ish years older than Mary? But this is just from memory.) and whether or not Mienese court does child marriage/what is the age of adulthood/ideas of consent is definitely something I did not put too much thought into back then haha.
If I were to rewrite it nowadays I'd say: Ancient Mienese court has universal age of adulthood at 15, this is the age at which Mary dies and Bryant is 21. The Dragonkin have age of adulthood older (since they live longer) at age 20 which is the age Elvine is at during the course of the story. This is why when Elvine first sees Mary she thinks she's a "little girl" because to her, she would be a minor in her own culture.
I have no idea why I made it twenty years between their fathers death and Mary's and Bryant's LOL. There might have been an aspect I'm completely forgetting about, but I feel like 3-5 years would have been plenty.
Uwah~! Bryants route made me cry ;-; They were separated by life and death, and Elvine didn't have an ending as nice as Lukas's route with Bryant ;-; So emotional rn. Was very good

Ah, I see. Thank you so much for the explanation. Is it alright if I also ask about the court mage's age?
Oh that I don't really remember.
